Several hit South Korean variety shows have been removed from major streaming platforms in China over the past two days.

几档韩国人气较高的综艺节目已在过去两天之内从中国各大主流网站平台下架。

This change comes on the heels of a continued worsening relationship between the two countries’ entertainment industries after South Korea agreed to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system, an advanced US missile defense system to which China is strongly opposed.

该举措可能与韩国执意部署美国导弹防御系统——萨德（终端高空区域防御）系统有关，中国对此一直持反对态度。此事过后，中韩两国在娱乐行业方面的关系也随之恶化。

Hit South Korean variety shows from this year, such as Running Man 2017, Journey to the West, and Weekly Idol, that had been updated weekly since the beginning of the year have been removed in their entirety from major streaming platforms in the Chinese mainland.

韩国人气较高的几档综艺节目，诸如：《Running Man 2017》、《新西游记》、《两天一夜》以及《一周偶像》等在今年播出的周播节目已经在大陆各大主流媒体平台上全体下架。

South Korean shows prior to this year remain untouched.

Shows from South Korea have become extremely popular in the Chinese mainland over the past few years.

很多年来，韩国的综艺节目一直在大陆地区特别受欢迎。

This led to many TV stations and streaming platforms purchasing the rights to create their own local versions of these variety shows for the Chinese market.

韩娱的盛行使得国内各大电视台和主流媒体纷纷购买版权，创作自家品牌的综艺节目。

However, increased tensions between the two nations has led to fewer South Korean productions being shown in the Chinese mainland.
