中国2017年国防预算逾1万亿元

According to the budget plan, China will spend 1.0443 trillion yuan in defense spending in 2017, a 7% increase from the actual spending of last year, said an unnamed official from the Ministry of Finance.

一名未透露姓名的财政部官员日前声称，根据预算安排，2017年我国拟安排国防支出10443亿元，比上年执行数增长7%。

Fu Ying, spokeswoman for the Fifth Session of the 12th National People's Congress, said that China will raise its defense budget by around 7% this year. Fu said the increase is in line with China's economic development and defense needs.

十二届全国人大五次会议发言人傅莹表示，2017年我国国防预算增幅在7%左右，与我国经济发展水平和国防建设需求相符。

The increased spending will be mainly used to deepen military overhauls and improve soldiers' living conditions.

增加的这部分支出将主要用于深化军事改革和改善士兵的生活条件。

The fresh raise could be the country's lowest defense budget hike in more than a decade.

今年的国防预算增幅可能是十余年来最低的。

Last year, the country's defense budget rose by 7.6% to 954 billion yuan, breaking a multi-year run of double-digit increases.

去年，我国国防预算为9540亿元，增幅为7.6%，告别了连续多年的两位数增长。

Fu noted that China's defense spending accounts for about only 1.3 percent of the country's gross domestic product, as compared with NATO members' pledge to dedicate at least 2 percent of GDP to defense.

傅莹指出，我国的国防开支只占国内生产总值(GDP)的1.3%，而北约成员国则承诺至少将这一开支提升至GDP的2%。

"You should ask them what their intentions are," Fu told reporters.

傅莹告知记者：“你应该去问问这些国家，他们的意图是什么。”
